requirements_lookup
Find out what your U.S. document needs to be accepted overseas. Give the document and the country it's going to, and American Apostille tells you the route: an apostille for Hague Convention countries or embassy legalization for the rest, which authority issues it — the Secretary of State or the U.S. Department of State — and what you need to send. Covers birth, marriage, and death certificates, FBI background checks, divorce decrees, school records, corporate documents, and more, drawn from the published guidance at apostillellc.com.
Inputs: destination_country (string), document_type (one of: birth_certificate, marriage_certificate, death_certificate, fbi_background_check, state_background_check, divorce_decree, diploma_transcript, power_of_attorney, single_status_affidavit, corporate_documents, federal_documents, other). Returns the route, the issuing authority, guidance, and the apostillellc.com source page. A country or document combination the published guidance does not cover returns a handoff to the contact form and phone instead of an improvised answer. Read-only; collects no personal information.

Data sources
Lookup answers come from a static knowledge base built from the published pages of apostillellc.com, together with the public Hague Conference (HCCH) Apostille Convention status table for country routing. Inquiry records created by start_inquiry are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. The connector charges nothing and contains no prices.
