The Department of Home Affairs will issue a one-year visa in this situation, extendable to the full five-year duration once your SAQA certificate actually arrives. Given that SAQA evaluation typically takes four to twelve weeks depending on the country of qualification and completeness of your submission, this change lets you start the broader visa process in parallel rather than waiting on SAQA to finish first.

The Degree Authentication Sequence for SAQA
